David Tennant Talks About Leaving

David Tennant has spoken exclusively about his shocking decision to leave after the 2009 Specials. The video can be seen below, special thanks to David-Tennant.com for the video.

I was thinking last night there is a high chance David Tennant can return in the future. If Rose Tyler was ever to return (I say IF!) then David Tennant could reprise his role as the other Doctor easily because it wouldn't matter if he looks older as he can age anyway. And there is also the chance of him returning in a 2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9 etc Doctors special. Finger crossed... In site news, as you have noticed the pages are under construction and shall be returning soon! Today's Trick or Treat question is as follows: Who played the 4th Doctor? Send your answers to the usual address: bex-doctorwhofan1@hotmail.co.uk. You have until 12pm tomorrow and the prize is the Quick Read 'Revenge of the Judoon.' Finally, I went ot the new Doctor Who Exhibition today and so the pictures will be uploaded to the gallery soon.

David Tennant To Leave After Specials

Doctor Who was again successful at the NTA, winning Best Drama but the shocking news is that David Tennant is leaving after the 2009 specials!

He made the announcement when accepting the award for Outstanding Drama Performance and said that after the 2009 specials he would be finishing his role as the Doctor. What do you think of this? One thing's for sure, I'm incredibly upset!

National Television Awards

The biggest television ceremony takes place tonight on ITV 1: The National Television Awards 2008. As usual, Doctor Who and all involved are up for plenty of nominations. The Doctor (David Tennant) takes on his companion (Catherine Tate) as both of them are nominated in the Outstanding Drama Perfomance category. Doctor Who itself is up for Most Popular Drama.

Lets hope they win, they certainly deserve it as Doctor Who has recently brought us 4 fantastic series as well as 3 Christmas specials including the likes of Kylie Minogue! Reaching ratings of 9 million each week, there is no doubt that Doctor Who is brilliantly popular. Without Doctor Who, many people's lives would not be the same, let's hope the work and effort involved is awarded tonight! You can see the ceremony at 8pm until 10pm; keep your fingers crossed!

Trick or Treat

Thanks again to the people who are entering, yesterday's winner was Turevenad, congratulations to him. Today's prize is 30 Random Doctor Who Sticker Album Stickers. These stickers can be used anywhere and are a great accessory. To be in with a chance of winning simply answer these questions. The first letter of each answer will make up a word. Email that word to bex-doctorwhofan1@hotmail.co.uk by 12pm tomorrow.

2) These dummies appeared in Rose (the episode)
3) The Doctor is the _____ of the Time Lords
4) The Cult of Skaro escaped with this _______ Temporal Shift
5) The name of Queen Victoria's diamond

Please don't email the answer to each question, just email what the answers spell out. Good luck!

Astrologer Martin Trueman causes a stir with his uncanny insights and predictions. While Sarah Jane doesn't believe in astrology, she does believe that all is not as it seems with Trueman. Around her, people are falling under Trueman's sinister spell and even Mr Smith doesn't understand what's going on."

The second part can also be viewed on the CBBC Channel after the first part. After the episode, feel free to come back and tell everyone what you thought.

As if he hasn't got enough to do, John Barrowman has gone and made another music video. The song, 'What About Us?' is from his brand new album called 'Music, Music Music' out on November 24th. The single is out on November 17th and I think it's quite catchy. What do you think?

Interesting Facts

On the website 'Den of Geek' lots of interesting facts about what the Series 4 Boxset commentary reveals have been posted online:

ON THE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL...
• The phrase "cache of info-stamps" is said (not revealed by whom).
• There's a character called Aubrey Fairchild, (the name of the Prime Minister in early drafts of The Stolen Earth) who meets a "terrible death".
• The Hub set, from spin-off series Torchwood, has been 'trashed' and used for filming in the special.

ON THE FUTURE...
• David Tennant refers to Steven Moffat as his "new boss", and their discussion indicates that they are already working together.
• The Moff prefers two-parters but this will not affect how he approaches the series.
• When asked if the title sequence for series 5 will change, the incoming show-runner jokes, "Should his face be in it?"
• The written (but not filmed) 'Shadow Proclamation' scene in The Stolen Earth, featuring monsters from throughout the series, has been requested by David to appear in one of the specials.

ON THE SARAH JANE ADVENTURES
• The production team couldn't find an actor short enough for Kaagh in The Last Sontaran so they had to make a new costume - thereby upping the cost of the episode.
• The actor who played the milkman from Journey's End is to appear in an upcoming episode.
• Catherine Tate wants a part (but not as Donna Noble), as her daughter loves the show.
• David Tennant wants to be the voice of 'Mr. Smith'.
and the biggie:
• David Tennant was to appear in the opening episode (in a sub-plot which would explain why K9 was not to appear in the show) but, at the time of recording the commentary (May 2008), this idea was binned. Julie Gardener states "it could still happen".

AND FINALLY...
• On the Paul McGann TV Movie, RTD says, ".. so not what I would do, but I love it."
• Although RTD loves the Ice Warriors, he says they are "slightly generic".
• When asked if River Song is The Doctor's wife, Steven Moffat says "it's more complicated than that"
• RTD reveals that Harriet Jones died in The Stolen Earth despite Phil Collinson's protestations that she lived.

Also, below is a picture of a deleted scene from Journey's End, during which the Doctor was going to give Rose a piece of the TARDIS so that she could grow her own:

Again thanks to Planet Gallifrey and Den of Geek for literally everything in this post!
