Ood Sigma to Return

It seems that the Ood Sigma, which last appeared in Series 4 during Planet of the Ood, will be returning during one of the specials as it was spotted during filming. The picture to the left, taken by Scooty, clearly shows the Ood, who was played by Paul Kasey. So what would this mean?

Considering pictures of David Tennant filming in his old orange spacesuit, last used during another Ood episode The Satan Pit, have emerged, maybe the whole Beast thing is happening again. It would be interesting to hear some of your theories, feel free to post them below.

New Filming Pictures

Some new filming pictures have surfaced online, thanks to Scooty. The pictures below show the Doctor in his old orange spacesuit, last used during the Series 2 episode The Satan Pit. According to sources, the Doctor wakes up in a pile of rubble and begins walking around... David Tennant was acting with a green screen and apparently there were plenty of explosions and fire! The scenery in the pictures hint at an alien planet... but we'll just have to wait and see!

News Reporters Needed!

With other online commitments looming, it's becoming increasingly difficult to find news to post about on this website. Therefore, I'm in need of some News Reporters, who would be able to search the internet for me and send me the details on a certain piece of news. If you're interested, please continue reading!

If you think you would like to search the net for news daily, please leave a comment below with your website URL, so that I can see some of your work, and say why you think you'd be suitable for the job. If I'm impressed, I'll give you a task and see how you get on. If you succeed after that, you will officially be a TOCS News Reporter! I'm willing to have 2/3 news reporters at the most, so please get applying.

Billie Piper Talks to Matt Smith

It's not long until Matt Smith begins filming as the 11th Doctor, so he's bound to get stressed out every now and then. So much so, that it's recently been revealed that the star has been talking to previous Doctor Who companion, Billie Piper, and getting helpful advice off her.

Billie, who recently gave birth to her first son, said, “He called me and said ‘What am I going to do?’” She has told him he needs no acting advice from her but is happily sharing tips about publicity demands, dealing with fans and the pressures of the smash-hit series.

Billie, 26, said: “Your life completely changes as it’s such a huge show, just about the biggest show on TV. I had no idea what I was getting into. It’s frightening being in that kind of production and having people suddenly know everything about you. He’s just about to embark on that. But I’m a big fan of Matt. He’s a stirring actor and has the right energy for the part of the Doctor. The role is in good hands.”

Friends of Matt Smith say he has been “in a bit of a flap” since news broke of his Doctor Who role. One said: “Hopefully he’ll get it together by the time he starts the role properly.”

Tennant Talks About Smith

David Tennant has recently told What's on TV about Matt Smith, the fairly unknown actor who will take over Tennant's role as the Doctor during the regeneration in late 2009/early 2010.

He said, "We chatted on the phone not long ago and we did exchange a few opinions on what's about to unfold for him. But advice is a very dangerous thing. Matt's got an extraordinary journey coming up in all sorts of ways and I’m sure he'll find his own way through it."

"I could tell Matt was very up for it, though, and excited in all the right ways. He says he's going to take it very seriously and he seems to have the right idea about playing the Doctor, so far as I can tell."

Birthdays!

Today, the 16th February, is Christopher Eccleston's birthday! Famous for playing the 9th Doctor in the 2005 revived series, Christopher is now 45. Happy birthday to him! Oh, and it's someone else's birthday today, but I just can't think who... hmm... I'll remember in a minute...

To all those wondering what on Earth is going on with 5 a day it is mostly my fault, I just keep forgetting to update it. I will start afresh tomorrow and update the questions, I promise.

Wish You Were Here!

The BBC Official Doctor Who site has confirmed that filming is currently taking place in Dubai by uploading 5 pictures of David Tennant and Michelle Ryan in action.

"We rarely take Doctor Who abroad," said Doctor Who Producer Tracie Simpson. "We did visit Rome for Series Four's The Fires of Pompeii - which gave us some spectacular footage. The locations in Dubai are a perfect match for writer Russell T Davies's vision of the episode and we expect to film some incredible scenes while we are here."

Matt Smith - A Millionaire?

According to the Sun, Matt Smith, who will play the 11th Doctor during Series 5 and beyond (?) in 2010, has been offered £1 million to play the Time Lord for five years. The contract he has agreed to apparently comes with the option for him to stay for another 2 years after he has completed his guaranteed 3 years.

An insider said, "Bosses don't want Matt doing a David and leaving when things are going great." Please remember this is the Sun, not the most reliable paper in the world...

News Catch Up

I seemed to have missed a lot of news over the past few days so here is a catch up.

Firstly, K9 will be making a much-wanted return to The Sarah Jane Adventures during Series Three. This was confirmed in DWM and 10 scripts have been written ready to be filmed and shown later this year.

Also, a new Doctor Who Sticker of Book entitled 'Children of Time' is set to be released on May 28th at a RRP of £3.99. The cover can be seen below and it will feature 25 reusable stickers of all the Doctor's companions from the finale 'The Stolen Earth' and 'Journey's End'.

Also, it has been rumoured that a Doctor Who Movie could be on the cards in the future. Russell T Davies said, "There must be ways and means of doing it. I suspect one day it will happen. I think once something is talked about often enough then it starts to happen. Being talked about in the papers could almost bring it into existence. It gives us an idea of whether or not anyone would want to go and see it at the cinema." Thanks to WhovianNet for the news.

Finally, some website news. The Doctor Who Roleplay page is ready for applicants, get applying now to chat as your favourite characters. Also, a set of three exclusive E-Books will be coming to the site mid-March, details about those will be up soon. Finally, a mini version of Via The Void consisting of 10 pages will be available to read in early March.

Hopefully, I'm up to date now!

New Website Advertisement

I never usually advertise like this but I'm determined to let my new website do (fairly) well. Over the past few days I've been busy working away at Cullen and Swan, a website dedicated to the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. It would be nice if any Twilight fans would visit it if they've got time and leave some feedback. The address is:

www.cullenandswan.blogspot.com

Obviously The-OncomingStorm will remain my Number One priority, but this site is just another little project. Enjoy! (And yes, I realise the layouts are similar, but I like it so please don't moan!)
