FAIRLY BIG SPOILERY STUFF!

Well, I did warn you.

Below is a picture of recent filming with David Tennant and the one and only Wilf, Donna's grandfather! This has practically confirmed the rumours that something surrounding Donna would be happening. The most likely theory is that she gets her hands on Verity Newman's new book, A Journal of Impossible Things (see older posts for info) What do you think? Could the mouthy bride be returning for one last time before Doctor Number 10 regenerates?

Thanks to 'Scootyboy' for the pictures on his Photobucket account!

Lack of Updates

Just to warn anyone who visits, there may not be as many updates lately for many different reasons. Expect posts once every 2 days until next week, where the Planet of the Dead mania will begin. Also, on April 1st, everything will be updated and some new pages will be added so some of you may look forward to that.

If you get bored of this site, why not visit some of the recommended sites on the sidebar? They are all high quality sites and are worth a visit.

Planet of the Dead on Easter Sunday?

Rumours have been flying around, yet again, that the Easter Special Planet of the Dead is going to be broadcasted on Sunday 12th April 2009, Easter Sunday. This hasn't been confirmed yet, but it seems a likely date. The episode will probably be shown around 7pm, the usual time for a Doctor Who episode.

A trailer for the special was shown during a rugby match last weekend at the Millenium Stadium, and this is expected to be shown sometime this weekend on the BBC Channel. Any further news on this will be reported here.

Jessica Hynes Filming

Some very interesting pictures have been released on the internet showing Jessica Hynes, who played Joan Redfern during the Series 3 episodes Human Nature and The Family of Blood, filming a new Doctor Who episode! Set in modern day earth, her character, now called Verity Newman, can be seen talking to the Doctor as he purchases her new book, at a signing, called: A Journal of Impossible Things. The Doctor has a serious expression on his face throughout the scenes... Thanks to Planet Gallifrey for the news and pictures.

Perhaps this is a relative of Joan Redfern's who has decided to publish the book? What do you think?

Piper/Agyeman/Simm/Tate Returning?

Here's what the Sun (may not be true!!) have had to say:

Billie Piper will return to Doctor Who with all the Time Lord’s former companions as part of David Tennant’s final episode. Billie, 26, will again play Rose Tyler and teams up with other sidekicks Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) and Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman).

The trio will join forces to take on the Doctor’s revived arch-enemy The Master, played again by John Simm. The episode sees the Timelord regenerate into the new Doctor (Matt Smith). An insider said: “This will be the most exciting episode Doctor Who have ever done. We really wanted to get all the companions back on board as a fitting send-off to David.

“And of all the enemies for him to face in his final episode it makes sense for The Master to be the main one. Getting Billie to agree is a real coup, but she loved working on the show so much it didn’t take much convincing.”

The red London bus set to feature in the first special has been damaged in Dubai by schoolkids. The double decker, which was smashed up shortly after arriving in Arab state for filming, was stripped for “souvenirs” after producers parked it outside a school. A show source said: “This really is the unluckiest bus in the universe.”

Casting News

This may be old news, but it hasn't been posted on many places so I thought I should. Two new cast members have been revealed and they are former Neighbours star Peter O'Brien and model Gemma Chan, seen in the picture to the left and filming below. According to a source, Gemma will be playing a character called Mia Bennett during the one of the specials.

Also, according to the Sydney Daily Telegraph, O'Brien said that he will be playing a villain in an episode, part of David Tennant's final story, and it will be set on Mars. Sounds interesting...

May DVD Release

The episode hasn't even been transmitted it, but it has been revealed that the DVD Release date for Planet of the Dead is May 11th 2009. Starring David Tennant and Michelle Ryan as Lady Christina de Souza, Planet of the Dead involves a double decker bus taking a sudden journey into danger... The special is written by Russell T Davies and Gareth Roberts so it's guaranteed to be good!

The episode is expected to be shown during Easter, which is only a month away! However, there is then a gigantic gap until the next special which has been confirmed to be showing at Christmas 2009, and filming is currently taking place.

Comic Relief

Today, Friday the 13th, is Red Nose Day! You've probably been surrounded by a flurry of red all day long, and it's nearly time for the official show to broadcast on BBC One. Remember, David Tennant is presenting for the first hour alongside Davina McCall and they will both be starring in a special Mastermind. Also, there is a special Sarah Jane Adventures sketch with Ronnie Corbett and the Slitheen. There are rumours there will be a Planet of the Dead teaser, too. Enjoy the night of fun and don't forget to donate to charity, it's for a great cause.

Reviewers Needed!

This serious lack of news isn't good for the website! Argh! Anyway, I've decided to add a new page to the site called 'Reviews' but I need your contribution for it. If you enjoy reviewing Doctor Who products, episode or merchandise then continue reading!

I'm looking for someone who can produce a weekly review, roughly 200 words long, for me to put up on the Reviews page. If you're interested simply send a 100-150 word review about The Next Doctor to bex-doctorwhofan1@hotmail.co.uk. You have until 1st April to enter and, if you win, you will be The-OncomingStorm's official reviewer and will have your review up on the page every week! Good luck!

Future Companions?

Rumours have been flying around about who the Doctor's next companion will be during the 5th Series. The main name at the moment is Hannah Murray, a star of Skins. She has worked before with the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith, during a theatre production of That Face.

In other news, it has been rumoured that Anna Friel, star of Pushing Daisies (pictured left), might be starring in The Sarah Jane Adventures as "an evil zombie life-sized doll" that Sarah Jane and the gang encounter. Also, it has been confirmed that the Slitheen will return (again) during the Comic Relief Sarah Jane Adventures special, airing this Friday.

Next Special at Christmas

The latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine has confirmed that the second special after Planet of the Dead will be shown at Christmas 2009. This has caused plenty of arguments as fans of the show have to wait a whole 7 months without any new Doctor Who episodes. This is a long time, but we're lucky we have DVD boxsets and repeats on channels like Watch... So what do you think of this date? Is it too big a gap or can you wait?

New Layout

Those of you who are observant will have noticed: there's a new layout here at The-OncomingStorm! After going through a dodgy few weeks, I hope this new look will revamp the site and get it back running. For the moment, most of the pages won't be fully completed, but they'll be up soon. In the meantime, please leave your thoughts and feedback!

Quick Little Update

Just a quick little update here to say I'm staying at Blogger for the moment. Thanks for all the supportive comments, it's good to know people actually like the site! Maybe I will move in the future, Who knows... Anyway, there may not be as many updates over the next few weeks as my exams are approaching (eek!) and I just don't feel like updating every day. I will reveal the results for the Caption Competition tomorrow and will restart 5 a day sometime in the future. Sorry if I've irritated anyone with the lack of new stuff.

Back to Piczo...?

I've been thinking about this for a long, long time and I thought it was about time I received some opinions... Please don't shoot me... I'm thinking about moving back to Piczo with a co.nr domain. Here are my many reasons why:

Firstly, I made this blog so that people could leave comments on my news stories. It's quite apparent that people don't and I don't like going around begging... Secondly, it hasn't quite got the response I would have liked, and with exams around the corner I want a more manageable website... Next, I am getting beyond crazy with not being able to design anything on Blogger, I would really love to just make up a layout on Piczo. Finally, I have no adverts on my old Piczo account as well as a small sidebar compared to Blogger.

Please could you tell me what you think? I need to know or I may just go insane (well, perhaps that's an exaggeration...)
