No Updates until Monday

Just a quick little notice to say that there won't be any updates on here until Monday 3rd August, because I am going to North Wales for the weekend. I'm sorry about this, but there are plenty of other fantastic websites out there always providing the latest news.

Also, I'm sorry about the comments from 'namey' on the C-Box... I've kinda forgotten my password so I can't ban him yet. But I'll work something out... *evil laugh*

Anyway, have a great weekend!

Weekly Topic

I've decided that every week there will be a topic to talk about on here, mainly because news gets a bit limited sometimes and I'd rather post about something rather than nothing at all. Last week it was your favourite Doctor Who moment, this week it's:

How do you think the 10th Doctor will regenerate?

I personally think it will be the Master - causing him to regenerate could be seen as revenge for what he did before. What do you think?

Could Rose be in Waters of Mars?

I didn't notice this until Combom posted about it on his site. At one point in the Waters of Mars trailer, it looks like Rose can be seen holding a baby... could this be Tony Tyler at their home in the parallel universe? Maybe she needs to get a message to the Doctor? Who knows...

Lucy Saxon To Return!

It has been confirmed by the BBC that the Master's wife, Lucy Saxon, who actually did the kind thing of killing him, will be making a return during the finale! Also, I got this screencap below (sorry for the rubbish quality) and it shows her, or maybe Harriet Jones, I can't decide.

Amazing Trailers!

We've been treated to two amazing new trailers! One for The Waters of Mars:

And one for David Tennant's final episodes! I apologise for the low quality, but the amazingness of the video should make up for it:

Eeeep!

Interesting Comic Con Stuff..

As you probably know, David Tennant, Russell T Davies, Julie Gardner and John Barrowman are currently at Comic Con, and this very interesting piece of information has been posted on Digital Spy:

"Cut to brief preview reel of clips from David's final episodes as the Doctor. A voiceover mentions "bad dreams". Shots of Wilfred and Donna, and a man wearing a black hood. "His name is the master," says the voiceover and John Simm is revealed (with blond hair). "He returns". Final caption says: "The end of time. Christmas 2009."

Eep. Am I the only person desperate to see this clip?!

Why RTD Killed Ianto...

When Ianto Jones was killed by a virus during Children of Earth, many fans were angry. Now, Russell T Davies has spoken out about why he killed him off...

Why'd you kill Ianto?

The threat to the world was just so great it simply would have been unlikely if everyone had survived. Torchwood is an adult show. We have killed off leading members of the cast before. Those have always been the stakes. Poor Ianto was defeated by a greater evil, I'm afraid.

So this wasn't something that resulted from Gareth wanting to leave?

No, it was my decision.

Can you confirm that Ianto is, in fact, dead?

I’m afraid so. He’s a wonderful actor. I've worked with him before. I’m a big fan of his and I look forward to watching his career prosper. But death is death in this case. It would devalue the entire plot if we brought him back.

What was Gareth's reaction when you told him you were killing Ianto?

Oh, he’s a lovely, professional man. He completely understood. He’d seen two major characters disappear the year before. It’s a job. It’s a very straightforward process. He loved filming that great big death scene.

New Figurines

Character Options have released new images of some figurines which are going to be released on 10th August this year. The first set, including the 4th Doctor, will have a RRP of £29.99 and the second set, consising of plenty of Daleks, will have a RRP of £19.99.

Your Favourite Doctor Who Moment (So Far...)

Seeing as the news seems to be a bit limited at the moment (I don't want to be posting spoilers all the time) I was thinking of launching a topic to talk about, and I came up with Your Favourite Doctor Who Moment (So Far...)

Basically, all you have to do is submit your favourite moment from any Doctor Who episode so far. It can be new or old, with any Doctor or companion, anything at all really. It's fair to say there are plenty of things to choose from; there have been hundreds of fantastic episodes.

My personal favourite moment was when the 10th Doctor and Rose were reunited during The Stolen Earth. It brought tears to my eyes, and just seeing the looks on their faces was so upsetting... then when that stinking Dalek tried to exterminate him... I would have happily taken Jackie's gun and destroyed it by myself! Argh!

Anyway, leave your thoughts now!

More Filming Pictures

As filming continues, many more interesting things are just waiting to be pointed out:

The Doctor seems to have a new sonic screwdriver! Or is it just a similar one to River Song's in Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead? Perhaps he's about to give it to her?

River Song appears to be in handcuffs in this picture; is she a prisoner? Has she done wrong?

Also, on one picture there is a piece of paper, on which the word 'Byzantium' is printed. Back in the Series 4 episodes that River Song first appeared in, she said, "crash of the Byzantium, have we done that yet?" So, could this be it?

Thanks to Combom and Rhianna for the pictures and info.

First Filming Pictures (UPDATED)

Filming starts today for Series Five, and the below picture shows what is, presumably, the 11th Doctor's costume! On first thoughts, it seems a bit old-fashioned, but maybe it'll grow on everyone. Beside him is Karen Gillan, who is playing the new companion, Amy Pond.

Also, below is a picture of the TARDIS which looks a little different...

It also seems that Series Four character River Song is returning! Maybe we'll finally get some answers.

John Barrowman's Car Accident

John Barrowman is a very lucky man, because during the filming of the TV show 'Fifth Gear' he lost control of the turbo powered Subaru he was driving and crashed, causing the car to plummett down a verge and flip four times, narrowly missing a lake at the bottom of the hill.

Luckily, he escaped with only a minor injury - a small piece of glass in his eye. He said, "I'm lucky to walk away unscathed, I got a ticking off from my mum afterwards."

Thanks to Ro for telling me about this!

Awards Results

A few weeks ago, I first posted about The Oncoming Storm Awards, and here are the results, decided by myself:

This website is always updated regularly with detailed news about everything which is going on. It's very reliable and accurate - well done Brad!

The layout on this website is simply fantastic! It looks amazingly professional and is usually equiped with an animated banner. Well done!

This website always has detailed, interesting posts up, always accompanied with pictures making them easy to read. They are always full of information too, well done Sylar!

Ro, the owner of Children of TARDIS, is very welcoming and is always nice to her visitors. Although the website is going through a rocky patch at the moment, I'm urging her not to shut it down! It's amazing!!

There was only really one contender for this award, and the winners are Will and Seb. Famous for their fantastic fan fictions, this website truly deserves the award. Well done you two!

Laser Screwdriver is a fantastic source for graphics and contains some amazing icons and blends. I really love the layout as well, it's brilliant all around! Ianto would be proud! Well done Meg!

This website always has amazing banners up - I always envy how great they are! The owner is incredibly talented and deserves this award. Well done!

It seems that whenever I visit this website, there's a new post up of some sort. It's a truly unique website which is a firm favourite of mine. Well done Combom!

This website has lots of information which is always highly accurate and well thought out. Kyle clearly spends plenty of time planning and preparing all his posts, and it shows. Well done!

This was a tough one to decide, but after I realised this website is the first one I visit everyday, it had to win. The Bad Wolf TV, run by Rhianna, has great news posts, amazing content and great features on the homepage. Well done!

Children of Earth Thoughts

So it's sadly all over: Children of Earth was concluded last night in the final episode of the five part story. Overall, I think it's been an amazing series: the story was strong and the acting was brilliant from (mostly) everyone involved. We never got a full glimpse of the 456, but they were still a sinister and very interesting alien.

What did you think of the story on the whole? You can leave a comment with your thoughts here.

It's been fantastic so far and considering the 456 are being revealed tonight, it can only get better!

Children of Earth: Day Two Tonight

The second part of the epic Children of Earth five-parter is going to be shown for everyone in the UK on BBC One at 9pm tonight. The synopsis is as follows:

As the new Torchwood adventure continues, the team is forced underground when the government takes swift and brutal action. With members of the team being hunted down, only Lois holds the key to Torchwood's salvation. But she is helpless as her superiors make plans for the mysterious Floor 13.

Sounds good, and when the episode's finished be sure to come back here and leave your thoughts.

David Tennant in St Trinians 2!

It has been revealed that David Tennant will appear in the sequeal to the St Trinians movie, entitled 'The Legend of Fritton's Gold.' He is going to play a character called Pomfrey, a villian who is a member of a secret women-hating society.

It seems that Mr Tennant is enjoying playing the baddies: he starred as Barty Crouch Jr during the fourth Harry Potter film, went a little psycho during Hamlet as well as playing another disturbed man during Secret Smile...

Filming is said to be starting soon and it will be in cinemas towards the end of the year.

Children of Earth: Day One Tonight!

It's finally time! Tonight at 9pm on BBC One, the first part of Children of Earth will be shown! The synopsis is:

Torchwood is forced underground as the government takes swift and brutal action. As members of the team are hunted down, Britain risks becoming a rogue state. Meanwhile, the mysterious and powerful 456 draws ever-closer.

When it's finished, be sure to come back here and leave your thoughts in a comment for this post.
