Fairly Funny Thing

I'm trying to do more posts now, so I've decided to introduce 'Fairly Funny Thing' which basically does what it says on the tin. Every day I'll post a fairly funny thing relating to Doctor Who, whether it be pictures or captions or whatnot. If you want to contribute, feel free.

As for the first one, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I couldn't resist. I know we have to give him a chance but still...

News Round Up

OK, I promised a news update, so here I go. Beware of spoilers, though, it's just like looking into River Song's diary...

- Pics of filming have revealed that one Series Five episode will be set in World War II with, supposedly, Winston Churchill and the Daleks.

- The animated picture of David Tennant's Doctor has emerged online for the new series called Dreamland which will feature Georgia Moffett.

- The official SJA website has been made over in preparation for the new series.

- And that's about it really. Please tell me if I've missed anything... I'll try to post about it as soon as possible. Also, I will be posting the list of episode titles for The Oncoming Storm FanFiction Series very soon... so keep checking back!

Guess Who's Back?

Hi everyone - I'm finally back! I had a great two weeks away but now updates should be back to normal. I plan to do a big catch up post tomorrow as I'm still a bit tired at the moment. I'd just like to thank everyone who continued visiting, and special thanks to Will who looked after the C-Box. It's nice to come back and not find any spam.

Like I said, updates as normal from tomorrow.

No Updates

Just a quick notice to say that there won't be any new updates or posts on here until Saturday 29th August, because I am on holiday for two weeks. However, you can still browse the wide range of pages and there are plenty of other websites out there, my recommended ones being:

The Bad Wolf TV

Ultimate Doctor Who

Whovian Net

And for some generally epic fanfiction, visit Will and Seb.

10th Doctor's Last Words?

An interesting page from the upcoming Doctor Who storybook has found its way online, containing quotes from the 10th Doctor's past and future. There are some on there which are new, such as "...E water! Get away from the wat..." and "One last look... Got to see..." But perhaps the most interesting is right at the top, which could be the Doctor's last words... Click to enlarge.

Series Five to be shown in America

Doctor: Ooh look! A flying sonic screwdriver!
Amy: Not impressed, Doctor.

It has been confirmed by the BBC that, after Series 5 has run on the UK during 2010, it will be shown over in America later on in the year. The official statement is:

“BBC AMERICA has announced the acquisition of the new season of Doctor Who starring Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. Shot in HD, the U.S. premiere season of 13 episodes, will air Q2, 2010 following soon after its UK premiere.”

This is good news for everyone really... just shows how popular Doctor Who's becoming!

Greatest Moments: The Doctor

It has been confirmed by the BBC that a documentary entitled 'Doctor Who Greatest Moments: The Doctor' will be shown on Thursday 20th August at 8pm. The hour long show will contain some of the highlights from the Time Lord's 10th incarnation, including exclusive interviews with David Tennant, John Barrowman, David Morrisey and Mark Gatiss.

Hopefully this will make the gap until 'The Waters of Mars' a little bit more bearable!

Looking for Writers...

The lack of news at the moment is incredibly annoying and causes many problems... so I apologise about that in advance. However, I have decided that I would like to start writing Doctor Who Fan Fiction again, preferably a series of 13 stories containing an original companion. I've done this before, ages ago, but want to start again with the help of some other people who are also talented at writing.

So if you would be interested in writing a story as part of the upcoming series, please email me at:

bex-doctorwhofan1@hotmail.co.uk

Please include an small extract of what you can do, with the 10th Doctor, and I will hopefully get back to you about writing a story.

(I'm sorry if this doesn't interest everyone... I'm just trying to keep the posts up.)

Mike Skinner in Doctor Who?!

Mike Skinner, producer of the band (if you could call it that) 'The Streets' has claimed, via Twitter, that he has a part in the fifth series of Doctor Who...

You wouldn't believe the week I've had, I can't talk about it but let's just say I got a part in Doctor Who.

Whether or not he's telling the truth, I'm sure that it would be absolutely thrilling and a great addition to have him in a future Doctor Who episode...

In case you hadn't noticed, there is heavy sarcasm evident in this post. No offence to any fans of their *music.*

Doctor Who and Torchwood News

In the desperate search to find some news to post about, I found this information on Combom's site, who full credit goes to. It involves some information gathered from an interview with Russell T Davies, the head writer. He said:

- In the finale, Donna Noble and Wilfred Mott are the companions, with Rose Tyler and Sarah Jane Smith making cameos.

- Something bad is going to happen to Lucy Saxon.

- The Waters of Mars leads into the finale.

- Hopefully, Torchwood Series 4 will start production next year as John Barrowman and Eve Myles are keen to continue.

All very interesting things to hear!

Another World Record

Hey everyone, I'm back and the updates will be as normal for a while. On with the news...

As if Doctor Who wasn't already successful enough, it's been revealed that the show has been awarded another Guiness World Record for its high ratings, amount of downloads and merchandise sold. Russell T Davies was given this a few days ago during the Comic Con event.

Congratulations to everyone involved, once more!
