Series Five Rumours
After the new trailer made its premiere on Saturday, all kinds of rumours have been flying around about Series Five. Firstly, although the actual transmission date for the series hasn't been confirmed yet, many blogs have been saying that it is likely to start on Saturday 3rd April, which is during Easter. When there's official confirmation, I'll post it here.
Also, it has been rumoured that James Corden (Smithy from 'Gavin and Stacey') will be starring in an upcoming episode. This has been speculated after he was seen filming in Cardiff, but this hasn't been confirmed yet.

Series Five Press Release
A website called 'Radio Free Skaro' claims to have the Series 5 press release and say it is as follows:
A new era of Doctor Who begins in Spring 2010. This latest series of the BBC's flagship drama programme sees Matt Smith's debut as the new, Eleventh incarnation of the famous Time Lord alongside a new travelling companion, the enigmatic Amy Pond (Karen Gillan).
Together they explore 16th century Venice, France during the 1890s and the United Kingdom in the far future, now an entire nation floating in space.
As always, wherever the Doctor goes, his oldest enemies are never far behind – the Daleks are hatching a new master plan from the heart of war-torn London in the 1940s. But they are not the only strange creatures the Doctor and Amy must face – there are also alien vampires. humanoid reptiles, old enemies such as the Weeping Angels, a Star Whale, and a silent menace that follows Amy and the Doctor around wherever they go…

Matt Smith - A Drunk Giraffe
It seems as though Matt Smith is going to be a very clumsy incarnation of the Doctor; Steven Moffat, the show's new headrunner, has likened him to a 'drunk giraffe,' claiming that he is constantly breaking things.
Speaking to DWM, he said, "He knocks over coffees, falls over, breaks props! When he was first handed the brand new sonic screwdriver on the first day of filming, I turned to Piers [Wenger, executive producer], and I said, 'I'm going to start a book on how long it takes him to break it.'
"And, as I was saying it, the prop man was walking past me with the sonic screwdriver in two bits! I thought, 'He's done it already!'. Straight away, he'd broken it!"
He added: "I described him recently as 'walking like a drunk giraffe,' which has caused him some concern. But he does! Actually, that's true of Karen [Gillan] as well. It's hilarious when the two of them have to do shaky floor acting!"
In an earlier post I did point out that Matt Smith had an exceptionally long neck, so I'm not the only person who thinks this!

Multiple Companions?
I am sorry for the lack of updates lately - it seems to be a bit quiet regarding Doctor Who news at the moment. However, a rumour going around at the moment is that there will be more than one companion in the TARDIS during Series Five...
The Daily Star have claimed that a character called Rory Williams, Amy Pond's fiance, will be joining her and the Doctor for a few adventures. This hasn't been confirmed, but an insider has supposedly said, "It’s a good job that police box is bigger on the inside than out; it’s going to be a tight squeeze in there this year!"
This isn't official yet, but would you like this idea? Thanks to WhovianNet for this information.

Three Episode Titles Revealed! (SPOILERS)
The latest issue of DWM (the cover of which can be seen in the previous post) has exclusively revealed three episode titles for Series Five! The first episode is called 'The Eleventh Hour,' episode two is called 'The Beast Below,' and episode three is called, 'Victory of the Daleks.' These sound really great, but the second episode reminds me a little of the Satan Pit...
Issue 418 DWM is out tomorrow. Thanks to WhovianNet for this information!

Bill Nighy in Series Five (SPOILERS)
The website Digital Spy has confirmed that Bill Nighy will be appearing in a Series Five episode. He will play the curator of Vincent Van Gogh in a story specially written by Richard Curtis. An insider has said, "It was a real coup to get Bill Nighy in Doctor Who, especially in Richard Curtis's amazing episode. Bill plays a Van Gogh expert with some similar fashion choices to The Doctor himself."
