New Pictures and Teasers! (Beware)

A few new pictures have been released for the upcoming special 'The Waters of Mars' and you can see them below...

Also, Digital Spy have released some teasers after seeing the episode at the Press Release:

1. The first line of the episode: "Hello mum. Susie says hello!" Do not underestimate its relevance!

2. The Doctor (and TARDIS) land on Mars on November 21, 2059. There he happens upon Bowie Base One, the first human colony on the red planet.

3. Heading up the base is Captain Adelaide Brooke (Lindsay Duncan), recognised by The Doctor as the pioneer of humanity's colonisation of space. "The woman with starlight in her soul," he calls her.

4. Odd-Doctor behaviour part one: The Doctor instantly realises he needs to leave. "Whatever has started here, I can't see it to the end," he tells them. "I can't."

5. ... but he doesn't leave, because before too long the dreaded 'water' starts to play a part.

6. There are references to two season four stories, as well as the recent Easter special. There's even a (new) flashback scene to one of the aforementioned.

7. "It's taken me all these years to realise *** **** ** **** *** **** - and they **** **** **."

8. An Ood makes an appearance. Last word is key.

9. Did you know, the human body is 60% water?

10. Odd-Doctor behaviour part two: Towards the very end of the episode, there's a scene that sees The Doctor say things that will utterly shock you. And more than that, the way he says things will shock you too.

Children in Need and Rumours

It has been revealed by the BBC that, during this year's Children in Need on Friday 20th November, a preview of the upcoming Christmas special will be exclusively broadcasted to millions of viewers. Cue lots of serious music and pained faces!

In other news, it has been rumoured that the transmission date for The Waters of Mars is Saturday November 14th, but this is yet to be confirmed by the BBC. Also, various online sources have said that a boxset containing The Waters of Mars and the last two specials (what about Planet of the Dead?) will be released on January 11th 2010, but again this hasn't had confirmation.

Monday 26th = TRICK

So for the first TRICK I have some Doctor Who pictures to share that I found over the internet. They are fairly funny and I'm hoping that some will make you smile...

Come back for TREAT tomorrow...

Trick or Treat: Quick Explanation

Seeing as Halloween is this Saturday (31st October) I've decided to do a Trick or Treat thing (I don't have another word to describe it!) A Trick will be a post with something silly and jokey (remember how 'Fairly Funny Thing' used to be?) and a Treat will be a post full of goodies like icons, banners etc.

It will start tomorrow with a Trick, then Tuesday will be a treat and so on. On Halloween night itself there will be a bigger treat to celebrate the actual day. The Daily Trivia will be postponed for a week because of this.

It's all fuuun here... But I would be wary of the Weeping Angel in the banner. He hasn't heard that it's rude to point...

Wedding Snaps

The people over at Digital Spy have revealed some amazing pictures and hints for the upcoming episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures starring the Doctor!

Three's a crowd...

Surely everyone would love to grab his hand here...

The Trickster dressed up for the occasion!

The Doctor looks confused... perhaps he's experiencing deja vu, what with all the brides he seems to have turning up.

K9!!

The trio take a look at the TARDIS.

He looks serious...

They also revealed some very small spoilers that won't give that much away...

1. DT is technically in both episodes, but he doesn't appear right until the end of the first one. His opening words? "Stop this wedding now!"

2. Ahh yes, the wedding. Sarah Jane is getting married! To Nigel Havers. Erm, correction: a businessman called Peter Dalton who is played by Nigel Havers.

3. Yes, their relationship moves quickly - although there is a lot of use of things like "one week later".

4. But that aside, there's definitely something untoward going on here. Who's to blame? Why, it's Sarah Jane's old friend The Trickster!

5. When The Doctor shows up, he's quickly parted from Sarah Jane (and the TARDIS). He's got the kids to help him out, though.

6. The Doctor says two of his standard catchphrases: "Allons-y" and "I'm so sorry."

7. The Doctor is referred to as "the man of ice and fire" and is told that "the gate is waiting for you".

8. One of the kids receives a massive shock. Literally.

9. The story ends with an exchange between Sarah Jane and The Doctor that provoked tears here at DS Towers. And she has a final line that we'll all be thinking around Christmas time: "No-one's **** ***** ** ****** ***." (I was thinking No one's ever going to forget you...?)

As well as this, here's the trailer for the first part...

(Almost) Daily Trivia

Sorry for not updating yesterday, I felt a little ill. Anyway, Tuesday's answer was Genocide and it was from 'The Doctor's Daughter.' So, here is today's question:

What year was 'Human Nature' and 'The Family of Blood' set in?

You have until tomorrow to enter.

New Picture

This new picture has been revealed from an issue of Radio Times. It is of Sarah Jane Smith, the Doctor and K9 in the TARDIS following his appearance during 'The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith' which will broadcast next week. There is a rumour that he will appear at the end of this week's episode, but that hasn't been confirmed.

Daily Trivia

Thanks to everyone who entered yesterday and the correct answer was 17. I will make a leaderboard soon to keep track of all the scores. On with the next question...

According to the Doctor, in a dictionary which word would have a picture of him underneath with the caption 'over my dead body?' Bonus point for which episode it's from.

Good luck! You have until tomorrow.

Daily Trivia

To make the recent lack of news seem a bit more bearable I've decided to post a daily trivia question. They won't be too difficult, but the person who gains the most points by the end of the duration of the questions (probably until The Waters of Mars) will get a prize. (Woop-de-do!)

Comments are set on private so you can't steal answers. Try not to cheat and Google it, the Doctor wouldn't be too impressed. OK, the first question (the answer and second question will be revealed tomorrow!):

How many DVDs does Sally Sparrow own?

I know it doesn't require much brainpower, but hey. There you go... If you feel like it, go on and enter.

New Cardboard Cut Outs

This may seem like old news to some people but I've just found these and thought they were worth posting. A new wave of cardboard cutouts are set to be released on 30th October at an RRP of £29.99 each. They are pictured below:

Imagine waking up and seeing a Vashta Nerada hovering over you?! For more information go here.

I got this information from Tardis and Torchwood Treasures - thank you!

Hamlet to Air at Christmas

It has been revealed that the filmed production of Shakespeare's famous play 'Hamlet,' starring our very own David Tennant, will be shown on Christmas Day on BBC Two. This means that, as well as the first part of his regeneration episodes, fans will get an extra 180 minutes (yes, that's 3 hours) of David Tennant on Christmas Day. What a nice gift!

Thanks to WhovianNet for this news.

Prisoner of the Judoon (Part 1)

So the first episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures was shown today and, unfortunately, I completely forgot about it! Never mind... But anyway, if you want to leave your thoughts on the episode, feel free!

The second part is on tomorrow at the same time (4.35pm) on BBC One.

Tuesday 13 October 2009

New SJA Trailer

A new trailer for Series Three of The Sarah Jane Adventures has been released and can be seen below. The series starts this week with Prisoner of the Judoon being on our screens at 4.35pm on Thursday.

STOP THIS WEDDING NOW!!

Quick Update

This isn't really an impressive post but I'm struggling to find things to post about at the moment... Anywho, I just thought I'd say that there will be a new layout coming soon in time for The Waters of Mars (I'm currently on the search for a template.) Also, the Fan Fiction series is going to start this Friday with a trial run.

In other news, I'd like to say Happy Birthday to Seb from the amazing Fan Fiction website Will and Seb. I know it's a bit late but never mind!

Series Five Information Revealed (SPOILERS)

More information has emerged about Richard Curtis' contribution to Series Five - the 11th Doctor and Amy Pond are set to meet the famous painter Vincent Van Gogh! Curtis has stated that Van Gogh has to stab a yellow enemy (maybe with a paintbrush!), and that the episode will be broadcasted in February, although this has not yet been confirmed.

There's certainly an interesting potential for this story, what with Van Gogh cutting off some of his ear and shooting himself in a field. Perhaps there'll be a supernatural twist to this...

Thanks to Combom for the info.

Filming Picture

News is, as ever, a bit dry at the mo, so here's a random filming picture to keep you happy. I can't help laughing at Matt Smith's face...

Tuesday 6 October 2009

Brand New Logo

So here's the brand new logo revealed by the BBC earlier today...

What do you think of it? Although I've had some time to look at it properly, I'm still not sure whether I like it. The colouring's nice, but I just don't know.

It's made me realise just how much the show's gonna change. New Doctor. New Companion. New TARDIS. New Head Writer. New Logo. (Possibly) New Theme Tune. It's even being called Series One. Who knows how it'll turn out?

One thing's for certain: the 21st century is when everything changes, and you've gotta be ready!
