Updates as usual

Hello again! I have returned from Barcelona, back to the rain and wind. Still, I'm glad to be back. The updates will now be in full flow, and here's a round up of all sorts of news. (The-OncomingStorm now reports news from Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures as well as Doctor Who)

Doctor Who

  • Doctor Who was voted Programme of the Year for a second year in a row at the Edinburgh TV Festival Awards.
  • DWM issue 399 is out now with an interview with Catherine Tate.
  • Billie Piper was seen out in the public looking heavily pregnant. The actress is 7 months pregnant and she and her husband, Laurence Fox, whom she met while working on the theatre production Treats, are expecting the baby in October.

Torchwood

  • Filming has begun on the Torchwood special in Cardiff. Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper) has been spotted recording scenes with her on-screen husband Rhys, played by Kai Owen.
  • The BBC have released this press release about the 5 part special which is currently being filmed:

Due to transmit in 2009 on BBC One, the series – called Torchwood: Children Of Earth – sees the team embarking on a single action-packed adventure as they battle for the future of the human race against the fiercest force they have encountered.

The highly-motivated Torchwood team are John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper and Gareth David-Lloyd as Ianto Jones.

Other regular cast involved in their high-octane adventure are Kai Owen as Rhys Williams, Gwen's husband, and Tom Price as PC Andy.

Special guests in the five part series are Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who, The Thick Of It, Skins), who plays the role of Mr Frobisher – a civil servant who is hiding a terrible secret; Paul Copely (Coronation Street, The Bill) as Clem – the survivor still haunted by his past; and Liz May Brice (Bad Girls, The Bill) as Johnson – the cynical covert government agent determined to expose Torchwood.

Russell T Davies said: "The new series of Torchwood is hugely bold and promises to be bigger and better than ever – the audience is in for an amazing ride.

"This series is one big serial and the most ambitious story we've ever made, and we've got plenty of surprises in store."

Julie Gardner, Head of Drama, BBC Wales, said: "We hope to make Torchwood a gripping and surprising TV event with storylines that push our team into greater danger and sacrifice.

"Joining our main cast are some fantastic guest artists who will only add to making this unmissable TV."

Site News

  • It's come to my attention that the person who claimed to make my banner by himself was not telling the truth. I am sorry if he copied someone's banner, I will try to get a new one up as soon as possible.
  • Proper updates will begin tomorrow, I'm still a bit tired!
  • I just want to say thank you to Steve from Interwho.co.nr for taking care of the site while I was gone and for the visitors for continuing to visit and leave comments.

Thanks to WhovianNet for some of the news.

(Sorry for making you read so much!!)
