The final ratings for The Hungry Earth have been revealed and they show that the eighth episode was watched by a total of 6.5 million people. 6.01 million watched on BBC One, while an additional 0.48 million watched on the BBC HD channel.Again this is an increase compared to the overnight ratings - perhaps we should just ignore them from now on!
